Alicja Chmielewska, PhD

Alicja Chmielewska, PhD – graduated with MSc  from Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology at University of Gdansk and Medical University of Gdansk in 2006. During her PhD studies at Department of Molecular Biology of Viruses, at University of Gdansk she conducted a 2 year internship at the CEINGE-Biotecnologie Avanzate in Naples, Italy. She performed research on the use of adenovirus vectors as vaccine against hepatitis C virus as a part of HEPACIVAC Sixth Framework EU project. She continued studies at the Department of Molecular Biology of Viruses, laboratory of prof. Krystyna Bieńkowska-Szewczyk. In 2018-2022 she was a PI of REINTEGRATION grant funded by Foundation for Polish Science, focusing on the role of interferon induced proteins in viral infections, including COVID-19.
